Care that honors your identity, your story, and your right to be seen.

Whether you’re exploring your gender, navigating your sexual orientation, or deconstructing heteronormativity, therapy should be a place where you feel affirmed, not questioned. Unfortunately, too many people spend sessions educating their therapist instead of getting the support they deserve.

Affirming therapy goes beyond simple acceptance. It’s about creating a space where you don’t have to explain, defend, or minimize who you are. As an queer-affirming therapist and member of the community myself, I approach each session with cultural humility, respect, and awareness of the systemic and social factors that shape well-being. My goal is to offer therapy that celebrates your identity, validates your experiences, and supports your most authentic self.

I provide identity-affirming therapy for:

  • LGBTQIA2S+ clients of all genders and sexual orientations

  • Individuals exploring gender identity and expression

  • Those navigating coming out, transitioning, or family acceptance

  • Anyone seeking affirming care that honors who they are

You deserve a space where all parts of your identity can exist without judgment, where your story and experiences are met with affirmation, not assumptions.

Grounded in Ethics and Affirmation

Affirming care isn’t just a philosophy — it’s an ethical commitment. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, my practice is grounded in the NASW Code of Ethics and the NASW’s Sexual Orientation and Gender Diversity practice standards, which emphasize dignity, self-determination, and respect for all people.

That means:

  • Providing care that is inclusive, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive

  • Challenging bias and systemic inequities within and outside the therapy space

  • Using affirming, non-pathologizing language at all times

  • Staying current with ongoing education in LGBTQIA+ mental health and social justice

Ethical practice and affirming care go hand in hand. You deserve therapy that not only supports your growth, but also honors your inherent worth and autonomy as a queer individual.

You deserve therapy that sees you fully, not as a diagnosis or a label, but as a whole person. If you’re ready to explore your identity, strengthen your sense of self, or simply find a space where you can exhale and be met with understanding, I’d be honored to work with you.

Why Affirming Therapy Matters

Too many clients have been harmed by “neutral” or uninformed therapy experiences. Affirming care creates emotional, psychological, and cultural safety. This is the foundation where healing can actually happen. It means you can bring your full self into the room without fear of judgement, microaggressions, or misunderstanding.

In our work together, we can explore and support:

  • Explore and live authentically in your gender identity without fear or pressure to conform.

  • Understand and embrace your sexual orientation while cultivating self-acceptance and confidence.

  • Navigate coming out, family dynamics, and relationship changes with support and care

  • Work through dysphoria, shame, and internalized stigma in a safe, compassionate space

  • Integrate the intersections of your identity, including race, culture, neurodivergence, and spirituality, as sources of strength

  • Process grief, trauma, and life transitions while developing tools for resilience and healing.

Every client’s story is unique, and our sessions move at a pace that feels right for you. You deserve therapy that not only understands your experiences but celebrates your wholeness.
